Vaada keeps your promise history on your device. There is no account. You can choose to share your records or enable optional Gemini help. On Android, the Google ML Kit library used to read shared screenshots also collects diagnostic and usage data, as described below.
What the app stores, and where
Vaada stores the promises you capture: the person's name, what they promised, the dates, any postponements, notes, and the settings you choose. All of it lives in the app's own storage on your phone (and, on iPhone, in the app's private App Group so the widget and the Lock Screen control can read it). On iPhone it is part of your iCloud or computer backup when backups are on. On Android the app keeps it out of cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so use Settings → Your data → Export before you change phones, and Import on the new one.
What the app does not do
- It does not send your promises, contacts, or usage to us or to anyone else. With Gemini help on, it sends only the text you ask it to read, as described below; never your promise list.
- It does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app advertising tracking. The Android screenshot-reading library collects technical diagnostics and usage metrics as described below.
- It does not ask for your full contact list. When you pick a person from Contacts, the system picker gives Vaada only the one contact you chose.
- It does not send messages on your behalf. When you tap Remind, Vaada hands a drafted message to WhatsApp, Messages, or Mail, and that app sends it under its own rules.
Permissions, and why

Android screenshot reading and Google ML Kit
When you share a screenshot into Vaada on Android, Google ML Kit reads its text on the device. The image is not uploaded by Vaada. Google states that its ML Kit Android SDK collects device and app information, a per-installation identifier, feature events, configuration information, input/output sizes, error codes and performance metrics for diagnostics and usage analytics. This technical data is sent to Google over HTTPS. These library diagnostics are separate from the optional Gemini help switch. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure for details. Vaada does not receive these diagnostic records.
Gemini help (optional)
Gemini help is off by default. The app asks before turning it on, and the consent sheet says what is sent, where it goes and what never leaves. You confirm that you are 18 or older. You can turn it off any time in Settings › Gemini help.
What is sent. Only text, and only when you ask: the one line you are writing in the capture sheet, a chat or screenshot's words you chose to share into Vaada, or the details of one promise (name, what, due date, how many times it moved, tone and language) when you tap Write it for me. Photos, audio and your promise list never leave your phone; a screenshot is read on the device first and only its words are sent.
Where it goes. To Big Helpers' relay at bighelpers.in and on to Google's Gemini API on a paid plan, which Google does not use to train its models. Big Helpers keeps no text: the relay stores only salted hashes of a random install id and your IP address with daily call counts, monthly token totals and outcome counters, in files outside the web root, and its logs never contain text. Google keeps abuse logs briefly under its own terms. Every reply is marked not to be cached.
The install id. A random identifier the app makes when you turn Gemini help on, sent with each request so the relay can apply its daily limits. It is not linked to you and is deleted from the phone when you turn Gemini help off. There is still no account.
Your say. Every suggestion is labelled, can be undone, and has a Report button. Turning Gemini help off returns the app to working entirely on your phone.
Sharing and export
Anything that leaves your phone does so because you tapped Share, Remind, Send as card, or Export. Exports are files you keep or send yourself.
Deleting your data
Settings → Your data → Erase everything removes every promise, note, and setting from the app. Uninstalling the app removes its storage as well. Big Helpers does not hold a copy of your promise history. Erasing the app's local data does not recall earlier requests from Google or delete technical diagnostics already collected by its SDK; Google handles those under its own terms.
Children
Vaada is a general productivity app and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
Version 1.3 added Gemini help, and the app asks before it is turned on. If a future version adds an account or sync, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the app will ask again before anything else leaves your phone.
