Hosting handover and client-owned code
Big Helpers believes clients should understand what they own and how their website is hosted.
At handover, we confirm access to the domain, DNS, hosting, CMS, analytics, source code repository, backups, and any third-party services used by the website. For WordPress, this may include admin access, theme notes, plugin notes, and hosting credentials. For custom or Next.js projects, it usually includes repository access, deployment details, environment variable notes, and build instructions.
Client-owned code means the client should not be locked out of their website or dependent on a single developer for basic ownership. Some licensed tools may have separate terms.
